"We are delighted to have an opportunity to support Greenpeace and it's goals through the medium of music. We thought the original track was a cool pop version and wondered if we could bring some of our sound to the party and make an interesting, alternative mix. We're happy with the results and hope that the track helps to promote values we feel strongly about..."

Aidan LoveForty Thieves Orkestar

A dastardly infusion of eastern melodies and sultry London beats. Forty Thieves Orkestar create a unique sound both in their recorded material and in their vibrant gigs. Their influences range from Balkan Gypsy music, Klezmer, and Belly dancing music, to Hip Hop, King Tubby style Reggae and filmic abstract soundscapes. Brass, clarinet, violins, accordion, oud and percussion interweave with earthy samples, crisp beats, evocative atmospheric sounds, and studio trickery.

Biography

Forty Thieves Orkestar started as a studio project in 2004 and has recently evolved into a fully fledged live act with exciting interaction between talented musicians and technology.
Over the past couple of years they have played venues such as Cargo, Momos, Notting Hill Arts Club, Pizza on the Park and Darbucka in London, and have played various festivals including Glastonbury (on the Lost Vagueness Stage) and ‘Bestival’ (on the Isle of Wight)
